I'm so behind on my posting. I haven't posted our family vacation or Easter. But those involve a lot of photos and I just really haven't had time to sort through them all. So maybe one day I'll post those..maybe.
But I wanted to share with you what we'll be doing this coming weekend. Do you know these people?
Well, if you don't, you should. We have spent the last year (wow, I can't believe its been almost a year!) getting to know them and let me tell you, they are something else! Andrea approached me about photographing her wedding at a hope group hangout night. From then on, they've become part of our family. We've loved getting to share in their highs and lows of engagement. There have been tears shed and many, many laughs..Andrea's laugh is quite contagious. They love our kids almost as much as we do. (Trent, do you remember when you were afraid to hold Carson? That's so funny to me now seeing how you two are BFF.)
So anyways, see those special people up there, they are finally getting married on Saturday! And we get to not only celebrate with them, but also capture their special day. I haven't been quite this excited to shoot a wedding in a long time. I think having a personal connection with the bride and groom makes our job that much more special and enjoyable. So, this whole post was to say Happy Wedding Weekend Trent and Andrea! We love you guys and can't wait to see you get married.

Funny Brody Story
*Just a little background: when Brody is allowed to have TV time, he calls it a show.
Our boys are both sick..have been for weeks. They just can't seem to get over all this junk. So yesterday, of course was Easter Sunday. We were driving in from my parents house to be at our church. We knew Carson had been feeling bad, running high fever and was really really congested. So we were planning on bringing him into service with us. Well, during the drive, I noticed that Brody seemed a little out of it. And of course, he had fever too and soon the nasty coughing started. So, we realized neither of our kids could go in the preschool that morning. We decided no biggie, we'll just sit upstairs and watch it on the screen so that our kids don't disturb everyone. There was only one other person up there and it was because his daughter was sick too. So it was perfect.
We made it through worship and Brody even sat and listened to Butch preach for a while. We brought some toys in but he didn't seem interested in those and just let Carson play. Soon, I realized that his diaper was REALLY dirty and had to be changed. I took him out to one of the classrooms upstairs and as I was changing his diaper he told me. "No more show! No more show!" I said "what?" "No show," he said again. Soon, I realized that he did not like the "show" were watching. You know, the "show" with Butch preaching about Christ's resurrection. It was hilarious. He thought we were watching a show on that big screen and he didn't think it was quite entertaining enough. It was precious.
I'm sure stories like these aren't as funny when you weren't there or couldn't hear his little voice. But still, to me, it was stinking funny.

Quick Pics
This is what life around here has been like for the past few weeks...chasing this one around! He pulls up on EVERYTHING and makes me nervous. He has no fear whatsoever! He gets into things that Brody never dreamed of getting into. Boy, are these two totally different. Which is great :)

Quick Pics
I decided to copy a couple of people and do a weekly photo of the boys. I saw this recently on 2 blogs and thought it was such a cute idea. I rarely have time to blog anymore...plus, not much goes on around here besides just normal life with the boys. So to make up for the lack of posts, I'll at least try to post a photo a week of what the boys are up to. You know, to keep the grandparents happy :)
Both of the pics for this week are from our family vacation we just got back from this weekend. There's a long post coming about that.
Brody riding Matt's shoulders at our
family's ranch in Florida. Pretty sure this photo is going on our wall.
Carson making friends with the gator as we visited "The Swamp" aka Florida Field in Gainesville, Fl.

Snow Day
As we all know, Texas weather is crazy. One day it was beautiful and warm. 2 days later it snowed more than I have ever seen. We're talking HUGE snowflakes! Brody saw snow last year when it snowed here, but he wasn't even a year old yet and wasn't quite sure what all the fuss was about. However, this year he knew what snow was because of a couple of movies he loves so when he saw it Tuesday afternoon, he was so excited. It started snowing right as I laid him down for his nap. I didn't know how long it was supposed to snow and if it would stick so I immediately went and got him back up so he would get a chance to play in it. Little did I know, it would snow all afternoon and leave a heavy coat. So we played for a short while, had a nap, then came back out for the real stuff! Plus, when daddy got home, he got to play even more. The boy stayed out until it was too dark to see and he was shivering. And he still had to be drug back in. He LOVES snow. For the next few days he would stare out the storm door and ask where the snow was. Here are a couple of pictures from his adventures.
Ok..I had more pictures that I had edited for the occasion. But for some reason, blogger won't load the edited ones. So you only get 2 because I don't have time to deal with it. Sad day. For some reason he felt the need to sit down and play..I guess because it looked so fun to sit in. This of course, led to him being more cold and wet than he would have been. Right after this pic was taken, he chunked that snow ball at Matt :) By the way, Carson enjoyed the snow from the INSIDE. He had an ear infection (and STILL has an ear infection in both ears) so he didn't get to partake in the white stuff.

You Might Be a Redneck...
if Jeff Foxworthy personally gives you tickets to see his show. Matt's dad, Allen, is Jeff's taxidermist. So he called Allen and offered him tickets to his show in Houston on January 30. He was there with 2 of the Blue Collar guys, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. Allen of course said yea! We'd love tickets! Can we have 10? Not only did Jeff hook us up with 10 tickets, but also backstage passes to meet him and the other guys. Unfortunately, Allen didn't even get to go to the show. So since Matt also mounts some of Jeff's stuff, he was put in charge of the tickets. We got to spend the evening with great friends and had a blast! Trent and Andrea rode with us to Houston (actually, we rode with them since Andrea drove) and we met up at Brent and Leigh Ann's. The 6 of us then piled up and headed to dinner before the show. Once we got there, we met up with David, Mona, Jordan (who was a little late), and a friend of theirs. We had quite a crew. We laughed hard all night, mostly at Bill and Jeff. Larry was funny at times, but was not the most tasteful guy.
I'm not trying to hug all up on Jeff. Bill Engvall was trying to squeeze me out or something. It was very awkward. Matt brought some hats for Jeff to sign and Jeff started going on and on about how Allen was the best taxidermist in the whole world. When Larry and Bill saw the hats, they wanted some. Larry kept saying "That's a nice hat right there. Can I get one of dem." I'm sure you can imagine his voice saying that. Our backstage time took up way more time than you're allowed but Jeff just wanted to talk to Matt about his mounts and kept asking if Allen was coming. It was great!
My Disclaimer: I DESPISE ever being called a redneck. Just because I'm from a small town where some people there choose to be rednecks, does not make me one. Just because people in my current hometown or family choose to be rednecks, does not make me one. Not saying being a "redneck" is bad thing, but its a lifestyle you choose for yourself. And I do not choose that for myself. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but its one of my biggest pet peeves. So yes, I had a great time at the show. The guys are stinking hilarious. But believe me, we definitely did not blend in with the crowd that was there.

Half a Year with Car-Baby...A little Belated
Carson turned 6 months 2 weeks ago on January 16. We got all wrapped up in Brody's birthday party and leg braces that I completely forgot to write a 6 month post for Carson.
Our big boy is growing like crazy. He's in the 90th percentile in all categories...weight, height, and head size. At least he's in proportion :) He is crawling around the house and is unstoppable. He army crawls right now but will be on his hands and knees in no time. He's got the knees up but I guess isn't quite strong enough in the arms to get around on "all fours" yet. He is sitting up all by himself but hasn't quite learned that he shouldn't dive backwards so we don't leave him alone sitting. The dr said that it takes a little longer for the big ones to sit on their own because they have a lot of weight to hold up haha!
He is the happiest baby ever. He never cries unless he's tired or hungry. He loves to play by himself and with his big brother. He laughs so hard at Brody and loves to pull his hair. They are so cute together. It is going to be so much fun watching them grow up.
Carson has 2 bottom teeth and is getting one of his top ones right now. He absolutely LOVES food. He hated just cereal mixed with formula, but once he was ready for veggies and we started mixing them in with the cereal he was excited. At meal time he starts flapping his arms, squealing and showing off his teeth with a huge smile. I really need to get it on video bc its hilarious. He is a much cleaner eater than Brody was because he doesn't let much miss his mouth..and doesn't push much out with his tongue either. The boy likes his food. Which is a huge blessing because Brody wasn't and still isn't a big fan of food. Its so amazing to see how different 2 kids can be that are raised in the same home and in the same way. The Lord definitely knew we needed one that was a little more laid back and easy going.
I feel horrible that I don't have many pictures of him right now. I think that's another reason I was putting off writing this because I thought I would get a chance to get more photos. We love you Car-Baby! You are precious!
