Catching Up: Brody's Birthday Party

Yes, Brody's birthday was in January. I'm only 4 months late in posting this. But whatever. Don't judge me. I'm trying to catch up so that I can HOPEFULLY stay on top of it. I feel like our life has drastically slowed down so I really hope to be able to document all the sweet times we have as a family.

We did a wild west theme and I had lots of fun creating the decor! My Silhouette sure came in handy!

Bandanas and Badges were the party favors.

 Some yummy cowboy snacks

The banner I slaved over..and am not totally thrilled with.

 Uncle Brent being a cowboy.

That is Matt, not Brent, for those who are confused. He borrowed Brent's duds for pictures.

I Won!

My brother captured this the weekend we moved into the new house. Brody, Carson and Cole were racing in the backyard...notice who wins.

Big Helpers

Sooner or later (probably later) I'll get around to posting about the new house. We are finally settling in and getting things put where they belong. Nothing is hung on the walls yet, and we still have some hideous wallpaper to take down in the kitchen. That's our major project to have completed over the summer. But overall, we are absolutely loving it. The boys love all the room they have to play inside and outside, especially outside. We are so excited to spend many years watching our family grow in this home.

But enough about that until I get around to taking pictures of all the rooms and can do an official house post. This post is about our "helpers." Lately the boys are big into helping, thank goodness. They want to cook constantly, fold laundry, and sweep the floor. For some reason they think its unreasonable to ask tell them to clean up their toys, but we're working through that. Apparently, that's not a "big boy" task. Yesterday I finally took the time to capture a few photos of them helping us with some daily duties.

We decided to make brownies for Daddy. Brody did pretty much everything except pour it in the pan and put it in the oven.

Reading the directions.

Matt cut some limbs that were hanging on the storage building and the house. The boys were a big help in dragging them to the pile to be picked up by the city.

How Cute are They!! UPDATED

This post is for the grandparents, aunts, etc. Its photos we took of the kids at Matt's grandparents' 50th Anniversary Dinner. So there's a bunch..and they are all similar, just with the kids doing different things in each one. You know you can never get one photo with 3-4 kids looking at the camera! So I put them all up so you can download the ones you want. (Click the photo to enlarge then right click and save as) For the rest of you, you don't have to look through them all..but they are cute :)

Baby #3: 20 Weeks

If you expected a post as soon as we found out the gender of this sweet baby, well, too bad. Life just doesn't always work out like we plan. I feel like I have so many posts to write about the last 3 weeks of our life, but I decided this post should be fully devoted to our sweet baby since HE hasn't been getting much attention.

Yes, that's right. We are having another BOY!! And since this is our last baby, I get to be the princess of the house and a mom to all boys! I think Andrea was the only person in the world who thought we were having a boy. Everyone just really wanted it to be a girl, including me. But I'm totally ok with this new reality. The reality of lots of bugs, frogs, lizards and dirt. Lots of baseball and sword fights. Matt said I'm the perfect person to have all boys. I love baseball but I'm not sure about all the bugs and junk. Guess I'll have to get used to it!

I don't have a belly shot for this week..but I've grown since 17 weeks for sure.

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:

How Far Along: 20 Weeks

Maternity Clothes: Still awkward in some maternity but definitely not in my normal pants. I can wear some normal tops still.
Fruit/Veggie: Banana

Baby changes: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (The way your baby is measured changes now.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (although some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Best Moment this week: Nothing particular this week but we close on our house tomorrow!

Gender: Baby Boy

Movement: Very active little guy. Lots of poking, prodding and rolling.

Food Cravings: milkshakes and pizza

Sleep:Well, we haven't been in our own bed for the last couple of weeks so that makes it more uncomfortable..so I'm not sure what my lack of sleep is really due to. Probably a combination of both.

What I am looking forward to: Moving into our new house THIS WEEKEND!

Symptoms: Still really tired and a few headaches but other than that feeling pretty good

Up to My Ears in Cardboard

Cardboard boxes that is. I don't think I've mentioned the status with our house since the "Sike" post. I think I was afraid to say anything in case things didn't work out this time. So, we sold our house again. A few weeks ago. We are set to close April 25..the Monday after Easter.

Since we will be at my family's annual Easter celebration in Lumberton that weekend, we are moving out this weekend. And by moving out I mean moving in with Matt's parents, not into a new house yet. We close on the new house on May 6 and will have a couple of weeks with no home, so Matt's parents graciously invited us to stay. Boy are they in for a treat. :)

I'm really excited about the new house and want to tell you all about it. However, we have a contingency contract on it until we close on our current house. So that means that there is the potential of someone coming along and putting in a better offer and the sellers would give us the option to either drop the contingency (meaning we would agree to buy the house even if we don't close on our old house) or walk away. And obviously we are in no position to own 2 houses. So although the chances of that happening are slim, there's still a tiny chance.

So right now we are knee deep in boxes. We have half a storage unit full. We are digging through boxes to find food to eat. And we still have a ways to go. Saturday is the big move day. We're hoping to be completely out by Saturday night. Its really exciting..but not as exciting as it will be to get to move the weekend of May 6. We'll keep you posted on the progress and can't wait to invite you to our new home!

Oh, and if you're free this weekend, feel free to come move some stuff and eat some pizza!

Baby # 3: 17 Weeks & Gender Poll

I can't believe I'm already 17 weeks! This pregnancy is flying by, probably because I am chasing 2 little boys all day. Up until last week, it has seemed just like the first 2 pregnancies...lots of sickness. But last week I finally started feeling better. I haven't thrown up in over a week and have been able to stay pretty active, unlike the first 16 weeks. So I'm hoping this is here to stay!

We find out the gender next week! We know that this is our last biological child, so I'm hoping for a girl. But I don't really have a feeling of what it is. And obviously we'll be just as happy with 3 boys! So, its time for the voting to begin. Vote on the poll (you'll have to go to the actual blog if you're in google reader) but also leave a comment with you guess so we'll know what you think!

17 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week:

How Far Along: 17 Weeks
Maternity Clothes: Sort of. I'm in the in between stage but maternity are definitely more comfortable.
Fruit/Veggie: Turnip

Baby changes: Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
Best Moment this week: I finally started feeling the baby move consistently in the last week. Also, I've been feeling soo much better!

Gender: Still not sure but we find out next Tuesday!

Movement: Feeling consistent flutters, pokes and wiggles

Food Cravings: chocolate milk and milkshakes

Sleep: I've slept better in the last week.

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender next week

Symptoms: still a little nauseous, some growing pains, and still tired some afternoons
