A Few Pics

Don't have much to say about the boys right now. Carson is a month old and growing like a weed. I think he weighs between 11 and 12 lbs now. Like all babies, his looks change daily. His little neck is so strong..he holds his head up like a champ! He is sleeping pretty well too. He still wakes up once or twice at night which is not bad at all. Hopefully it won't be long before he's sleeping through the night. I feel like it could be soon!

Matt's birthday was last Saturday, so on Sunday night we had a little party. Nothing fancy..just some friends from Hope Group plus a few others. We all piled into Andrea and Michelle's house and let our kids destroy their cute, stylish, single girl house. Thanks for being such troopers, girls!

Here are some pics we snapped this week..nothing special and not a lot of time for editing. But we know we have some peeps that want to see pics :) So here ya go...

His fave napping spot.

He looks fat here..but it almost looked like he was going to smile.

The ONLY halfway decent looking pic of us from the party..and of course our kids are looking away, yawning, etc

Carson with Andrea & Kelly

Trent rigged the 24..it was awesome

PEACE OUT!

Happy Birthday Matty!

Happy 24th Birthday Matty!
(Wow, you're so young...I totally robbed the cradle!)

Thank you for sharing these last almost 5 years with me! You make life wonderful. You are such a great husband and father to me and the boys. You are a great friend and encourager to those blessed to call you their friend. Thank you for being so patient with me, so encouraging of me as a mother and so supportive of my dreams.

Brody says thanks for playing baseball with him every night and trying to help him walk. Carson says thanks for changing his stinky diapers and being patient when he has his gassy, fussy moments.

In case I don't tell you enough, I LOVE YOU! Hope you have the best birthday you could ask for!

Life with 2 Under 2

Carson has been here for 3 weeks now. Before I had him, I had this picture in my mind of what life would be like with 2 children under 2. I thought it would be hectic all day, I'd be exhausted and just ready to collapse when Matt got home each night. However, I'm so happy to say that it has not been like that at all. Matt was off the first week and my mom was here most of the second week, so this week has really been my first week alone. And it really hasn't been bad at all. There's been moments when I was a little overwhelmed because Brody wouldn't take a nap or Carson was crying because of gas troubles. And its hard to keep Brody off of Carson when he's in his bouncy seat. But overall, I feel like we are adjusting well. I do realize that right now Carson sleeps a lot and that in a couple of weeks when he's awake more during the day, things may change. I guess I'll adapt and figure it out when it gets here.

Carson is already changing so much. When he was first born, everyone said he looked like Brody. And he still does. But when his eyes are wide open, he definitely has his own look. I feel like he's looking less like Brody each day. He slept through the night last night! I was shocked. I kept waking up to see if I just didn't hear him crying, even though he's right next to my bed! It felt great to get a good night's sleep. I'm just trying not to get my hopes up that it will last. He is such a great eater and pretty laid back, as long as his tummy doesn't hurt. Speaking of his tummy hurting...last night Trent and Andrea brought us dinner and hung out. Carson was pretty fussy and we couldn't really make him happy. I had finally gotten him settled down and we were enjoying adult conversation. All of a sudden I see the face...and I hear the rumbling. Carson is filling his diaper BIG TIME! We all laughed and I said something like "well now you must feel better." And we went on with our chat. A few minutes later I went to adjust Carson in my arms and felt something wet. Oh yes, he had pooped all over himself and me. I couldn't really get up from the couch while holding him so I passed him off to poor Andrea, who then got poop on her. It was quite a mess. Andrea and I had to go clean up the baby and ourselves..and I noticed that Matt and Trent gladly let us handle this by ourselves. Thanks guys! After a night at our house, I think the future Mr. and Mrs. Buck will wait quite a while before having kids!

Brody is adjusting well. He loves him so much. When he hears him crying he says "Bubba." Sometimes he says "Bubba cy-in"...its so cute! Some mornings he even wakes up asking for him. These days Brody is really learning to communicate with us. We can't ALWAYS understand what he's trying to say..but he tries so hard. He's learned "No." He hasn't told us no out of disobedience yet, but he knows how to say "no no" when he doesn't want something to eat. He even says it to himself when he knows he shouldn't touch something. He tries to repeat things that we say like Go Aggies and Gig Em. Its quite funny because it sounds nothing like the right thing, but he tries! He also loves to count. He will take our finger and point to things in his counting books and wait for us to count them. He even counts before he throws a ball or does a "trick" like rolling on the floor. It comes out as "et, et, et GO!" That's supposed to be "1, 2, 3 GO!" Oh, and he's also quite a good little pitcher. He and Matt play baseball almost every night in the living room and he throws quite well to Matt, who has the bat. Brody never wants to bat though. He's quite a character and keeps us laughing all the time.

Well, I think that's about all that's going on with us. I'll leave you with a few pics!

Meeting Uncle Brent and Cole for the first time.

Brody was very angry that we were trying to encourage him to walk!

Carson's first real bath

Carson was in his crib crying so he need to go check on him.

He likes his tummy

He didn't understand that Bubba was sleeping and he couldn't go mess with him.
(yes, he has yogurt on his face.)

He likes to snuggle sometimes

This is what Brody does everytime Carson is in his chair..he laughs and pokes at him.

Such a HAM!

Andrea loving on him, BEFORE the poop explosion. And if there was any on her sweater, you couldn't tell bc it was the same color! Not saying your sweater looks like baby poo, Andrea!

One Week Old - EDITED!

*I had a brain lapse and accidentally left off some important visitors that Carson had. I've edited that part.

This has been such a great week! I feel way more rested than I ever did for the first 3 months of Brody's life! Don't get me wrong..I'm tired. But nothing like I was with Brody. I didn't even want to get out of bed for days after I had Brody. However, Carson is a totally different baby. I'm thinking making it to full term made such a huge difference! He sleeps and eats so well. And when he's awake, he's so content. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that he's going to be this way forever because I know he's only a week old and things could change. But for now, its great!

There were a couple days this week that we were a little concerned bc we didn't think Carson was eating enough. He looked like he had a little bit of jaundice. He would sleep for hours and would never wake up to eat. When he did eat, he would only eat for like 5-10 minutes and be done. It scared me bc Brody did the same thing as a newborn and almost got dehydrated. So we went to see Dr. Rusty yesterday to have him checked out. We left there laughing. He does have a tiny amount of jaundice, but he was definitely eating enough! He was 8 lbs 7 oz at birth...he weighed 8 lbs 12 oz yesterday!! Apparently, he was eating like a champ those first few days in the few minutes that he was eating. He was getting so full that he just crashed and didn't need to wake up to eat every 2 hours like most babies. Dr. Rusty said do not wake this baby up to eat! Yesterday, he just naturally kicked in to a normal routine and was waking up to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours and eating for a while. And last night, I fed him when we went to bed at 11:30 and he woke up at 3:30 and not again until 6:30am..so technically only one middle of the night feeding. It was AMAZING! I could definitely get used to this! So far, he seems to be such an easy baby. I think God knew that I might not have been able to handle another baby that was as high maintenance as Brody was.

We've had lots of visitors this week..and unfortunately, I never grabbed the camera to get photos of Carson with everyone. Not sure what I was thinking! He's already met some very important people in our lives, and still has more to come in the next few days! He's met all of his grandparents, and ALMOST all of his aunts and uncles. He'll meet Uncle Brent this weekend and hopefully he'll meet Uncle C pretty soon. Our hope group leaders, The Vandevanters, spent some time with us on Friday when we came home and Mrs. Kelli got to love all over him. Saturday morning he got to play with Asher and McKlayne when the Apels came over to visit. Kristin and David came to the hospital but they made a second stop to see him on Sunday afternoon. Sweet Andrea came over yesterday and brought him a sweet little gift. She had no idea that his room was done in cars, trucks, etc and just happened to bring him some little transportation accents for his room. It was perfect! And of course he spent some time with Caitlyn and Grant this week as well! This weekend he'll meet more great grandmothers and Uncle Brent and Cole.

Ok..I've rambled enough. Here are some pics from the week! He's changing every single day!

My favorite! Brody loves his "Bubba"

Brody likes his old baby toys.

Today's Update and Some Pictures

Because Carson is so healthy and we are doing so well, we get to go home today!! We are planning some time this afternoon. So for those of you that were planning on visiting us at the hospital, come to our house! It's better there anyways! Just call first to make sure we are home by then and its a good time.

I tried to make a slideshow of Carson's pictures, but I had trouble..so here's a link to some facebook pics. CLICK HERE.
Even if you don't have facebook, it should let you view the photos. And of course, there will be PLENTY more photos to come. He looks so different than he did just yesterday so we'll be taking lots so we don't miss anything! Everyone says that on your second child you take less photos..we took 245 yesterday...is that good enough :)

Carson Jace Palermo

Carson weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz. and measured 21 inches, even bigger than expected. Larra did very well throughout the delivery only pushing 15 minutes. She is very tired now so she is trying to get some rest while he is being monitored in the nursery. We have been moved to a post-partum room and we expect to have him back around 5:30. We can have visitors between then and 9:00, and anytime tomorrow. We will most likely be going home on Saturday morning. So anytime you want to come visit us either here or at home just call one of us ahead of time to check and make sure its a good time.

Brody's first meeting with his brother went great. I brought him in to meet him and he just pointed at Carson and said, "Bub-ba". He may not always like him that much but hopefully thats a good sign.

We will try and post pictures as soon as possible.

Thanks again for all of your prayers.

He's Here!!!

Carson Jace was born at 1:00 with lots of brown curly hair. He is quite a bit bigger than Brody was. They still haven't checked him out in the nursery. When they do we will update with more details. After they take him for about 3 hours we will be moved to another room and then we should be able to have visitors.
