Trying Not to Get Our Hopes Up....

So today, we're having a normal doctor's visit, doing the routine things...listening to the heartbeat, dr checking the cervix, etc. Dr. B is all calm, as normal. Talking in her soft voice, she tells me how much I've "progressed" and says that his head is WAY DOWN THERE. And then, just like its no big deal, says:

"Well, I doubt you'll make it to your next appointment." (which is next week!)

We were like what! holy cow! We could be having a baby any day now? We said..you mean like, it could be this weekend or something? She says yep, anytime now.

And then of course says "I could be wrong, but I doubt it."

So we don't know what to think! I will say that I've had stronger and more consistent contractions all day. But this could go on forever I feel like.

So Baby Brody could be making his entrance very soon! I'm getting so excited..but trying not to. I feel like even a week from now seems so far.

WOW! That's all I can say! We'll definitely keep you posted!

  1. Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy! I can't wait to hold him and kiss him and see how beautiful he is. Who's gonna be responsible for letting us all know he's arrived. Is there a baby phone tree for the blog?

  4. Yay! That is so exciting...but I can understand that it's nerve wracking too!
I've never had a baby in the US (never thought I'd ever type a sentence like that!) so I'm not sure- do they regularly check cervixes around now? Or is it because you've been on bedrest? My doctor here is awesome...but tomorrow is my 36 week appointment and she has yet to check me. I'm not worried or anything... Asian doctors do different things routinely (like ultrasounds at almost every appointment) and I'm getting excellent care...but now I'm totally curious as to the "progression" (if any) of baby Isaac!
Good luck in the delivery room in case it IS this week!

Wouldn't that be something if he were born this weekend?

    Can't wait!
    Love ya,
