Oh How I Love Those Jeans

And I may not get to wear them much longer! I decided I better go ahead and put up a "before" picture. This is me at 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I know it sounds crazy...but I kept having to unbutton those jeans so they would fit comfortably! Is it too soon for that? You moms out there need to let me know if this is normal! As much morning..or rather ALL DAY sickness as I've had, you would think everything would still be the same...I don't eat a lot. Guess I'm just storing up. Say goodbye to my little tummy...hello to mommy tummy! I'll keep you posted on the progress. But seriously..I would love for you moms to comment on when you started growing out of your regular clothes during your first pregnancy. I know everyone is different..but I would love to see the variations between all of you.

  1. Larra,
Let me tell you girl...eating helped me feel better when I had that all day sickness feeling. It never made it go completely away, but it helped take the edge off. I hate little things (crackers, pop-tarts, etc) every 2-3 hours.

As for your belly...well, the first thing you experience is some major bloating. I was all excited b/c I thought it was the baby already. My doctor quickly brought me back down to reality and explained that the reason my jeans weren't too comfortable anymore was b/c I was bloated. Fun, huh? No one told me this part.

It's such a weird time...you can't wear maternity clothes b/c you look ridiculous, but you can't fit into your pants b/c it's so uncomfortable!!

Before you know it though the "bloating" will go away and you will be all baby! :)

  2. Yea, I'm not too excited that the "pudgyness" is bloating and not baby. But thats ok.

I wish food helped me..sometimes it makes me feel even worse! I've tried every remedy in the book..I'm just having to learn to deal with it.

  3. Oh please...

By your third pregnancy you know you're pregnant before you even take the test...why? Because you're already showing.

    Seriously.

    Just wait.

But I do sort of remember my first pregnancy. I wanted to wear maternity clothes so bad...and I even did some, but I didn't look pregnant. I looked like a gangsta.

Fun. It may be awhile before you have the belly you are wanting! Sorry!!

And then, after you have the baby, it will be awhile...as in maybe never...before you have the belly you want again.

Life is just weird like that!

Savor whatever belly you have at the moment. Learn to love the journey more than the destination!

  4. My first pregnancy I didn't show until I was 5-6 months pregnant.

Then with each one it got sooner and sooner.

This last one I think I started showing before I was even pregnant.

I HAD to comment because my husband and I found out a few weeks ago that we're pregnant with our first! I'm due Feb 15...tomorrow is my first appointment and I'm pretty sure they're gonna do an ultrasound...I can't WAIT to have pictures.

  7. Larra, I love the bellies. Whether gas or baby, they are something to be treasured and deffinently something you will miss in a few short months.

With Grady I was "showing" at 10 weeks when I was in a wedding and they had already let my size 6 dress out and i still broke the boning. HA! Wade's aunt says, "I thought that pudge was a baby." Talk about making a girl feel good.

With Will at 10 weeks a complete stranger walked up and asked when I was due.

This time, I think people see my 7 mon old Will and assume I still have a pretty bad case of postpartum belly. Isn't it fun to see our bodies change to accomodate for God's precious children. I love what Heather said, I too pray that you enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

  8. That is still the cutest belly I've seen in a while.....even if it is bloated!

It took me about 5 months to SHOW with Kaylyn. By 'show' I mean, when people actually feel comfortable enough to ask you when the baby is due because it is noticable that you are pregnant. That question can be sort of scary to ask. But, I was obviously pregnant at 5 months.

WIth Laney Rae, not the case. I was noticably pregnant at about 3 months. CRAZY!

I know about being sick all day too! I was sicker than a dog with KK. With Laney Rae I tried to be better about snacking all day long on little things. I think this did help. I had to make myself do it though.

I'm so excited for you to become a mommy. I can't wait to see you interact with your precious one. It is so beautiful to me to see a new mommy hold their first baby. Their is nothing like it in the world!

    Love you,
    Lyns

  10. I know! I love those jeans too! You know I wear them just as much as you do or more since I can wear jeans to work. Maybe we can get Charolette Russe to make maternity jeans just like these??? Or would that send the wrong message??

  11. With Emma and Jax, I showed around 4 1/2 mos. A little sooner the second time around. With Justus and Treston, I never did! Isn't that amazing!!!

  12. Larra, who cares about jeans.

Nina's little sweetie will let you know when you are too big for those jeans.

I hope you get through this all day sickness soon. I hate seeing my girl feeling sooo bad.
Matt thanks for taking such good care of her. You are a great husband.

    I Love you! Nina

  13. I am so happy for you guys. As far as showing when I found out I was pregnant with Tristin I let it all hang out. That was around 3 mo. Don't worry it will come in time. Now days they have these really stylish maternity jeans with elastic bands that fit right under the belly and I know you are going to find a pair to love. When I was first pregnant all they had were pants with a huge wad of stretchy material that you had to pull all the way over your belly. Not cool.

  14. Haha...Pauline, you made me laugh!

I agree with Nina...who cares about jeans...we like big bellies with healthy babies inside!

I couldn't remember when I REALLY started showing...until I looked at my blog post: http://planetoftheapels.blogspot.com/2006/09/my-growing-belly.html

It took me a while, but once I started I didn't stop growing!

    Love you!-Kirby
